There is something so rewarding about helping establish new flight systems in Pensacola FL that makes me feel like I’m floating. Although I might not get the opportunity to fly myself because of the disability that keeps me grounded, I still get to follow my passion and get close to the action by proxy. I’ve helped establish new flight systems and aviation equipment in more towns and cities than anyone else in my division.
Loving what I do certainly helps me excel at it, but I’ve also been into the flying game since I was a child. Having a mother who was a pretty well known pilot in our area, I had some pretty big shoes to fill as I got older.
She would train me regularly on flight terminology, weather patterns, and landing approach protocol before I could even drive. It was always a push to succeed in her eyes, but I was equal to the challenge and worked my way through all of her training over the years so that one day I could enroll in flight school and actually begin the legitimate process for piloting.
However, fate would have a different plan for me and instead of becoming the dream pilot that I had been grooming to become my whole life, a drunk driver took out my car while I was coming home from school one day and the rest is history. Being relegated to a wheelchair after my aspirations of flying through the clouds was a harsh reality to swallow, but there was nothing more for it than to keep the course and do whatever I could to pull my dreams together into a new reality.
Now, with my experience and knowledge in the field, I am a decorated flight systems operator with a working knowledge of over 85 different planes. I work my butt off so that I can ensure a safe sky for all those pilots up there and keep the industry that I love alive and well.
