The rains down in Tampa FL have drawn me in to wonder evermore at their origin and their effect on the land below. Studying the effects of the water cycle here would not have been possible were it not for the amazing short term furnished housing in Tampa that I’ve been able to source through StayAvenida, so I am forever grateful to them for their hospitality as I continue my research into the cycles of life that the waters bring to the area.
It may seem somewhat mundane to the layman, but under the surface, the water cycle is what determines the climate that we live in and ultimately what separates the deserts from the oceans and everything in between. This kind of raw power is an emblem for mother nature and the many ways in which she is constantly reshaping the world around us.
Sure, we humans as a species have been able to master our immediate surroundings, and this is a major testament to our ingenuity and perseverance. Though it does require constant upkeep and management in order to keep the forces of nature at bay, and we aren’t always successful at it either.
Just look at most of the major disasters that involve weather in the past 100 years. Most of the crises stemmed from the fact that people had become complacent in their surroundings, trusting that the man-made structures of their division and creation could hold back tsunamis or gale force winds of a hurricane.
The mistake that we make time and time again is a lack of respect for the elements, and this may yet be our greatest downfall. This is why I seek to understand the world from a scientific perspective and document and learn about the natural cycles around us.
Being in Tampa FL and doing this research is integral to better preparing for other catastrophes and being able to predict events in order to save lives and create prosperity when threats are minimal. It’s taxing work, so I am happy to have a wonderful short term furnished housing in Tampa to return to at the end of a long day, and I have StayAvenida to thank for that.
